Hertford Helping Hands
Hertford Helping Hands now gathers every Friday from 8.45am in the After School Club Room and is open to all parents and carers interested in meeting each other and helping with school events and activities. Tea, coffee & biscuits provided. All welcome and particularly parents of Y3 children.
School Uniform
School uniform ordered before the holidays is now in. We’re well stocked, so pop in if you need jumpers, fleeces, coats and PE shirts.
Open Days
Thank you so much to the children who helped show parents around during our open day last week. They also prepared a powerpoint presentation and answered lots of searching questions. The children were: Ruth Purbrick, Archie Lawson, Fred Seyd, Ben Stephenson & Jamie Field
Volunteering at After School Club
Do you have a few hours a week to spare, or are you interested in becoming a playworker and would like some work experience? If you would like to volunteer contact Yvonne.
School Grounds of the Year
Earlier this year we were awarded the B&H School Grounds of the Year award. Part of the prize was a crew from the BBC made a short film about what we’ve been doing. This was showed last week to lots of other schools in
Little
Year 6 are off to Little Canada next week. We hope they have a great trip. As a result there will be no Cricket or Football Club next week. Cookery Club will be for just Year 3. Homework Club, Eco Club & Poetry Posse will run as normal.
National Poetry Day
Next Thursday is National Poetry Day and several of our children who are in the Poetry Posse will be taking part in an event at the Jubilee Library. We’ll hear all about it next week.
Extra Curricular Activities & Events
Would you like your child to do yoga or cycling proficiency or singing after school? Are you interested in helping on our Dig Days? You will be receiving a questionnaire soon which asks these questions and many others. Let us know what you want at school and maybe we can try and make it happen!
BikeIt & Gate
The side gate will be open for easier access. T shirts, bike tools, slap bands & key rings are some of the incentives for riding your bike (or scooter) to school.
Bringing things to School
Please, no cuddly toys, dolls, balls etc and definitely no ‘Crazy Bones’, which are no longer allowed. We provide ample play resources at school and there are lots of things to do at playtime. These items will be confiscated from children and returned to them at the end of the day.
